Big Sean – High (feat. Wiz Khalifa & Chiddy Bang)

Tuesday, June 14th, 2011

Out of all of the tracks that I could have posted from Sean’s Finally Famous album, I chose “High,” because in a weird way, it’s one of the stand out tracks on the album, which really reminded me of Sean’s earliest material. Not to mention the homie Wiz is featured on the track (hence the name of the track). Expect a full album review of Big Sean’s Finally Famous, coming soon, because I am so effin’ surprised at how DOPE this album is.

And just because the rest of the interwebs are buzzing about this track, Sean and ‘Ye performed this last week at the Heineken G.O.O.D. Music Showcase, and this will most definitely be my theme music for the summer. Marvin Gaye and Chardonnay, anybody?

Kelly Rowland – Lay It On Me (feat. Big Sean)

Tuesday, June 14th, 2011

The first of many Big Sean-related posts tonight, so please excuse me. Ms. Kelly is preparing to keep things moving while she has the number 1 R&B record in the country with the Weezy-assisted, “Motivation,” which might just be the got damn sexiest record ever. “Lay It On Me” was produced by Hit Boy and penned by Ester Dean, and features Big Sean and could quite possibly be a HUGE second single for Kelly, especially with summer time coming.

Who ever is controlling her project this time around, is on the right track because THIS my friends, is the proper way to strategize and plot out a proper roll-out. Kelly’s Here I Am is slated for a July release.

Monday, March 14th, 2011

What a got damn way to start the week!!! Ms. Civil got her hands on this remix and liberated for all us Hip-Hop lovers. All I have to say is that all three dudes MERKED the living shit out of this beat. Rumor has it that a big brother is missing from the final version of this remix. Oh my diggity damn.

Daps KC.

Mixtape Game: Wiz Khalifa – Cabin Fever

Sunday, February 20th, 2011

Well looksie here. Cameron is getting a bit reckless while gracing the covers of The Source, VIBE, and The Fader and decided to drop off some new music. This nine song mixtape was produced by Lex Luger (which I’m sure you’ll be able to tell after the first three songs) and features collaborations with Big Sean, Chevy Woods, and Trae Tha Truth.

To be quite honest with you all, THIS is the type of Wiz that I like to hear from time to time and it’s definitely interesting to hear him over “B.M.F.”-esque beats. I’ll probably have to favor “Homicide” probably because he falls back into that melodic flow. After the jump, check out the tracklisting.

Is this going to hold y’all Taylors over until Rolling Papers drops on March 29th??

Shouts to Young Khalifa for the liberation.

Big Sean – My Last (feat. Chris Brown)

Tuesday, February 8th, 2011

Sooo it looks like G.O.O.D Music’s very own is actually getting serious about releasing his debut album Finally Famous: The Album on Def Jam next month. The first single is the Chris Brown featured “My Last,” and on the real, this shit gets down and Sean stays with his light, witty wordplay while dumbing down his music enough to play for the masses. Not a bad choice.

Mixtape Game: Chris Brown – In My Zone 2

One thing I have to say about Breezy, is that his whole “get back into the positive light” unfolded rather nicely, at least on a professional level. After he received a lot of praise after releasing the Fan Of A Fan mixtape with Tyga, the man that moves almost as slick as MJ, releases another mixtape presented by DJ Drama. As for the tape, this dude delivered. He puts on some future R&B dudes, Lonny Bereal and Kevin McCall. But the highlights from the tape come courtesy of Breezy’s collaborations with G.O.O.D. Music artist, Big Sean. Definitely do NOT sleep on this tape, because it will probably spawn more hits than his last album did (although I loved Graffiti).
