Mixtape Game: Diggy – Past, Presents, Future

Sunday, December 26th, 2010

The little rascal from the Simmons clan, who can spit better than most rappers that have hit records courtesy of dope production and industry politics, politely drops off his latest mixtape. At least this kid stays in the lab, rather than out getting in all sorts of trouble. How long ’til Dig gets on a track with the Biebs and they have 16 year old girls everywhere offering to be the leading lady in their episode of “16 And Pregnant”? Once again, Daniel goes IN!!

After the jump, peep the tracklisting.

Mixtape Game: Rick Ross – Ashes To Ashes

Sunday, December 26th, 2010

The biggest bawse is back with 11 tracks to keep you flossin’ from Christmas day all the way to your New Year’s champagne hangover. Looks like somebody’s on their Weezy grind. Teflon Don is still in stores and online now.

Mixtape Game: Chris Brown – In My Zone 2

Sunday, November 28th, 2010

One thing I have to say about Breezy, is that his whole “get back into the positive light” unfolded rather nicely, at least on a professional level. After he received a lot of praise after releasing the Fan Of A Fan mixtape with Tyga, the man that moves almost as slick as MJ, releases another mixtape presented by DJ Drama. As for the tape, this dude delivered. He puts on some future R&B dudes, Lonny Bereal and Kevin McCall. But the highlights from the tape come courtesy of Breezy’s collaborations with G.O.O.D. Music artist, Big Sean. Definitely do NOT sleep on this tape, because it will probably spawn more hits than his last album did (although I loved Graffiti).

Mixtape Game: Diggy Simmons – Airborne

Sunday, September 19th, 2010

Finally the kid that Rev put on the map delivers his second mixtape and proves that he’s not just a Hip-Hop legend’s offspring. All things related aside, this kid can spit, which is evident in the guest appearances from Chris Brown, Lupe Fiasco, Wynter Gordon, Pharrell, and more. Hit the jump for the tracklisting.

Mixtape Game: Big Sean – Finally Famous Vol. 3: BIG (Hosted By Don Cannon)

Tuesday, August 31st, 2010

BIG things for this guy. Incase you forgot, Big Sean is the man who caught Kanye walking out of a building and started rapping for him. He caught his attention and got a deal with G.O.O.D. music. This tape is dope, I love Sean’s style. I have been bumping the track “What U Doin?” in my whip since it dropped. Don’t sleep on this one. Tracklisting and download after the JIZUMPP (pause)…

Mixtape Game: Mac Miller – K.I.D.S.

Friday, August 13th, 2010

Who said Friday the 13th was unlucky? Rostrum Records’ very own, Mac Miller, dropped his much hyped mixtape, K.I.D.S.(Kicking Incredibly Dope Shit – yeah, I know) today and had the entire Internet buzzing. At first I was thinking that this was just another white boy trying to make it in the rap game, but the more I actually listened to Mac, the more I realized how incredibly talented he is. This cat is the type of rapper that just SPITS over a beat, like 32 bar, catch me if you can, type spitting. Not to mention he’s a jew maaaah man! I haven’t been this excited about a mixtape since Aubrey’s So Far Gone. TRUST ME when I say that if this kid doesn’t blow up in the next few months, I’m quittin’ Hip-Hop.

Hit the jizump to check out the tracklisting as well as grabbing the link to download this DOPE mixtape.

Sound Off: Aion Clarke

Monday, July 26th, 2010

Picture the deep soulful voice of Tank, mixed with the sweet-talkin’ swag of Trey Songz. Extend your hand, and meet Aion Clarke. I can’t lie, the main reason I gave this mixtape a listen was because I saw that Claude Kelly had a huge presence in this dude’s work. Ya’ll may not know Claude Kelly by face, but you sure as hell know his lyrics because he’s penned songs for almost every major artist out today. Aion Clarke definitely has the potential to hold his own with the Ushers, the Treys and the Breezys (yeah I said it, do something). I see you Karla.
